The best Megadeth song from their mid era honestly, well done with that. By the way, is it really just mostly F#'s on bass on that pre-chorus?? on guitar they basically go F# - A - F# - G - A - G - A *palm mutes* but I wouldn't be surprised if Ellefson kept it on the root note to make it more solid, he's one of the best at making bass lines differ from guitar in a simple context. Awesome cover!

I've always liked I Disappear because it came out around the time I first got into Metallica and thus was one of their first songs I listened to. I think in watching this video, I listened to it more today than I have done in the last 20something years, but 16-year-old me thought it was a cool tune

I can think of one other thing that limited Megadeth's ability to surpass Metallica despite superior talent. It starts with an H and ends with a press release.

I wonder if Cliff and James would have eventually butted heads. Or maybe Cliff and Lars. It's difficult to have that much talent outside the core writing duo, unless you're a session-musician supergroup (e.g. Toto, Steely Dan) to begin with. I can see why Metallica had to have Cliff in their band, but I wonder if that genius would have become threatening. Het admits to being alpha, with Lars having veto power.
